QUILL
QUILL
The Main Rival

Bio: Quill is a young and ambitious budding Pokémon trainer from Vergrys City. He comes from an affluent family, with his father being the President of The Cirrus Corp, a prominent architecture firm in the Ovaro Region.

The player first meets Quill on the beach of Arrosa Town, when he overhears the player receiving a starter Pokémon from Professor Coral and asks for the same. The Professor agrees and Quill immediately becomes your main rival.

Quill is often aloof and condescending towards the player. His intentions for wanting to go on a journey are not fully clarified, until later on in the story when it is revealed that he is looking for his sister, Wren, who left the family to join Team Rook. Quill considers her to be besmirching the family name, and has left on a quest to return her home. In the process, he joins the player in discovering many things about the mysterious Team Rook.

So when the first main batches of Gen VII Pokemon were revealed I remember being slightly underwhelmed by some of the designs

To be honest, I still stand that some designs are a little off, but I've learned to really appreciate - what I think - is the new angle Gamefreak took to designing the new batch.

One thing in particular I really appreciate is the amount of personality and character each one has - and the official descriptions on the Pokemon website (which are much more extensive than the generic in-game Pokedex entries) showcase how fleshed out each of these Pokemon are with regards to their personality, their behaviour and their roles within nature

I still have my old favourites like Lapras and Drifblim which have perfectly fine designs, but now I like the extra steps taken by the designers to invest the new Pokemon with memorable personalities and characters.

I guess it's given me less of a focus on designing pretty Fakemon

I've also noticed I haven't uploaded a new Fakemon in five months... so hopefully that should change some time

Happy Halloween
